South East Tax has been serving clients in Southeastern Manitoba for over 40 years, providing excellent, sensible, down to earth tax services. This company was started by Benno Friesen who served clients out of his home for many years. By 2015 the business had grown significantly, and there was a need for more space. Benno converted his childhood home into office spaces and ran the business out of this new location, which was still on the same property as his home but in a separate building.

Benno’s wife was the office manager, responding to calls and scheduling appointments and keeping the office running smoothly. Since the workload had increased significantly with more and more clients coming, a new tax preparer was hired. Claudia joined the team in 2015, and continues to come back every tax season to serve clients. She has over 10 years of experience doing tax work.

In 2020, as Benno was starting to think about going into semi-retirement, he hired Elma Schroeder as a tax preparer with the intention of selling the business to her. Elma bought the business in 2021, and she continues to uphold the vision and values of the company that Benno built up for so many years. More tax preparers have been added to the team including Katharina and Levi. Alvina and Leanna provide administrative support and keep the office running smoothly and efficiently.
